The Clinic: Psychotherapy Center
What is the PC?
The Psychotherapy Center is the community service agency of CPPNJ, The Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy of New Jersey. In 2008 IPPNJ and CAPS consolidated to form CPPNJ. Since 1987, the PC has been providing affordable, intensive, quality psychotherapy for adults and couples who either do not have insurance or prefer to work outside the constrictions of managed care.
Who are the therapists?
CPPNJ is the premier training institute in New Jersey for licensed therapists with graduate degrees in Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing, Psychiatry and professional counseling. Our therapists are engaged in advanced psychoanalytic training that prepares them to provide therapy above and beyond an academic degree. Psychoanalytic therapy is an in-depth learning experience through which individuals make significant and positive changes. Symptoms such as anxiety, depression or low self esteem often interfere with clarity of thought and ability to function effectively. Working with a therapist provides an opportunity to understand yourself in a growth-promoting, supportive environment. An increased understanding of your self and circumstance permits you to cope and make choices with more freedom and creativity.
Where is the PC?
Our therapists have offices throughout the state of New Jersey and specialize in a variety of fields. Every attempt is made to find the best possible match in a convenient location. The PC provides service to everyone regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, cultural affiliation, religion or disability.
How to Get Started
Call 1.800.870.5940 or email us at info@cppnj.org and leave a confidential message including where you live, and your phone number. One of our therapists will then contact you within 48 hours for an assessment to match you up with a compatible therapist in your area. If the nature of the difficulty can be helped by psychoanalytic therapy, then a therapist will be assigned who will either call you, or you will be given his/her number to make contact. Fees and scheduling arrangements are made with your therapist during the first consultation session.
We look forward to hearing from you. We believe that there is no substitute for the trust, caring and healing that occurs in the relationship between a patient and his or her therapist. Our work with patients over the years has shown that people given the care they need will learn healthier ways to cope with problems in their lives. The first step begins with a phone call.
